Need help finding a scripture, please!

it is actually several scriptures, but it's where jehovah was dealing with a situation and one of his angels made a suggestion about making the prophets say something that was false or something and then jehovah told the angel to do it.

i have tried to think of keywords in the wtlib but can't find it.

help, please?

Proof that WT literature is not needed...

i have recently come to fully appreciate what is stated at 2timothy 3:16, 17 (nwt).

it clearly declares that nothing is needed outside of the bible in order for a person be be "fully competent" and "completely equipped" for "every good work".

how can anyone, especially the wts, claim that the bible alone is not enough after reading these scriptures?

i'm placing this into the "scandals and coverups" section for good reason, i think.

a few days ago i had an elder and one of "the anointed" come by to encourage my wife and i to "get back to the meetings before it's too late".

i proceeded to tell him a few of the reasons why i've lost confidence in the elders and the organization, and he retorted with a real- life example of how i need to see that although the "brothers" can make mistakes, it's best to accept it as "jehovah's will" and play along.

i have never seen this guy stumped on a bible topic or point before, but history was made today!!!

he and a soon-to-be elder were doing a shepherding call on my wife and i because we've missed weeks worth of meetings and had no service time for dec. he went through the usual lectures about how we're cutting off jehovah by missing meetings (because we all know god won't lift a finger for those who don't go to meetings, right?

) he gave some good illustrations- the guy really is a good teacher, it's just what he's teaching that's questionable.

i have laid low from posting here for a bit and was barely here at all to begin with, so most, if not all of you, may not remember me.

i thought i'd let you all in on what just occurred in my cong.

my ex wife was df'd in 2003 for multiple counts of adultery spanning a 7 year stretch.

i think this is the appropriate forum for this.

i'm trying to compile a list of jw rules, policies, practices, or beliefs that are contradictory or that they apply to everyone else but themselves.

for example; jws tell members of other religions to examine and question their beliefs, but jws can't; if you are in "the world", you're not really happy- only jws are happy.

the "judicial loophole" thread gave me a thought- what would happen if someone faded a la moving far away but then later decided to start all over again and pretend to know nothing about jws and go through the motions of becoming a jw again?

would there be a record of your first baptism on file at hq?

if so, what if you deny that it's you, that someone else just has the same name?
